matrimony  Publish Date(17-Apr-2018)

Dear readers

Good morning from swarammatrimony a trusted and honest matrimony site for marriage alliances. We are a Chennai based mainly a tamil matrimony/marriage website .

We have started our website www.swarammatrimony.com in the year 2015 and in October 2018 we will be crossing a milestone of 3 years. Thinking back our role as a marriage counsellor at this point is a sort of self-analysis and also broadcasting our activities to the people at large who matter to us.

When we were retired from our active service of Indian bank a part of our hectic life came to an end because you know in India any managerial role in Banking job is a 24 hour job and you are always on 24 hour call.  Though it does not mean that you work all the 24 hours in a day , it can be fairly assumed that you will be active on your job at least 16 hours a day. That is for certain.

Added to this ,our role as leaders of the trade union activities of our Officers Association, kept our day fully busy. While that is another story, the fact is the work life was fully hectic and active.

Being in trade union activities so long which basically advocates joint welfare and growth over individual welfare and growth, we want to carry on our activities in the same direction of people welfare. The objective is replica watch www.replicadealer.net

  1. to be active and spend time productively
  2. to be a part of peoples welfare and provide a tangible impact in a selected area
  3. and to carry out our role in tune with latest Technologies.

So evolved our strategy of starting an online matrimony portal www.swarammatrimony.com a full integral portal providing all safety features of online Register and Search for a marriage partner. Time come in the life of every person when he/she want to marry and settle in life. And for parents the ultimate wish is to find a matching marriage partner for their son/daughter and put them in the path of family building as has been done over generations.

But marriage or matrimony or wedding has become a complicated one thanks to the improvements in our life style, education, standard of living and more due to our evolving expectations. Matrimonial match making is now in a state of affair where new thoughts have come in the prospective bride/groom in identifying their marriage partner but parents relying still on their time tested marriage /matrimony traditions of identifying a suitable match.

Naturally the field has opened up contradictions and complications in various aspects of matrimony match making, the first step in the ladder to marriage. To be continued….

WELCOME DEEPAVALI  Publish Date(17-Oct-2016)

DIWALI -TIME FOR CELEBERATIONS

In South, Diwali festival often commemorates the conquering of the Asura Naraka, a powerful king of Assam, who imprisoned tens of thousands of inhabitants.  It was Krishna who finally subdued Naraka and freed the prisoners.

Diwali Festival in the south is celebrated in the Tamil month of Aipasi (thula month) 'Naraka Chaturdasi' thithi, preceding Amavasai.    The preparations begin the day before, when the oven is cleaned, smeared with lime, four or five kumkum dots are applied, and then it is filled with water for the next day's oil bath. The house is washed and decorated with kolam (rangoli) patterns with kavi (red oxide)      In the pooja room, betel leaves, betel nuts, plaintain fruits, flowers, sandal paste, kumkum, gingelly oil, turmeric powder, scented powder are kept. Crackers and new dresses are placed in a plate after smearing a little kumkum or sandal paste.

Celebrations:

In the Morning: The Deepavali celebrations begin early in the morning. The eldest family member applies sesame oil on the heads of all the family members. Then, it's off for a bath, beginning with the youngest in the family. They emerge with new clothes and a look of anticipation at the thought of bursting crackers, which symbolizes the killing of the demon king Narakasur.

Lehiyan:  But before that comes Lehiyan, the bitter concoction, to cleanse the system of its festive over-eating!  Then to the crackers.

Murukku:  A puja is performed for the family deities in the morning. Breakfast consists of murukku , a sweet dish and, of course, idli or dosa.

Wish fulfilment:  Some communities believe that when Narakasur was to be killed, Lord Krishna asked him his last wish. Narakasura replied that he wanted to enjoy the last day of his life in a grand manner and Diwali was celebrated. That was the beginning and the practice continued.

In the Evening:

In the evening, lamps are lighted and crackers are burst. As most of the cracker manufacturing units are in Tamil Nadu, there is no dearth of fireworks here.

During Thalai Deepavali, the newlyweds go to the bride's parental home for revelry. Taking blessings from the elders, they burst the first crackers of the day. Usually a vast range of crackers is bought, with costs running into thousands of rupees. The Diwali Celebrations include a visit to the temple, gifts of clothes and jewellery, gorging on sweets and receiving blessings of elders. The groom's parents, brothers and sisters come down to join in the celebrations.

HINDU MARRIAGES  Publish Date(08-Oct-2015)

The weddings in the Hindu tradition is generally a big time and big budget affair and involves many pre-wedding and post-wedding rituals and celebrations which vary by region, preferences or the resources of the groom, bride and their families. They can range from one day to multi-day events.

The Pre-wedding ceremonies include engagement or betrothal, during which time, confirming the date and details of the marriage by a written declaration by both the families declaring their agreement to the proposal are done in public.  This function is generally done in the presence of the elders in both longines dolcevita replica watches the families, the friends and relatives and it can be taken as an act of  commitment to the marriage, which, hitherto was kept as a family affair.

Hindu marriages are generally performed in a colourful way involving many Rituals and Procedures. While the procedures are mostly common, swiss replica watches however there are many differences in the way these are perceived and given importance in the Hindu wedding ceremonies.  There are many reasons like the local setup, economic conditions, status of the families, the cult or the tradition followed in different castes etc.

Nevertheless, there are a few key rituals common in Hindu weddings like kanyadaanPanigrahana, and Saptapadi, which are respectively, giving away of daughter by the father, voluntarily holding hand near the fire to signify union, and taking seven steps with each step includes a vow/promise to each other before Agni. The ceremony is traditionally conducted entirely or at least partially in Sanskrit. The local language of the bride and groom is also used. One important factor in all the marriages is the time during which period the marriage is to be performed and it is called as Muhurtha Neram considered as  the auspicious time for the successful marriage.

However a few marriages are done without observing any of the above formalities, mostly by the rationalists and non believers.

But the thing common in all the marriages is each occasion is followed by a good feast. It is believed that people who take part in the marriage having tasted a great meal, will bestow their wishes to the couple without any reservations. Nowadays the marriage is also rated on the number of dishes served in the food and their taste and quality.

The post-wedding ceremonies may include performance of certain rituals by the couple, followed sometimes by a discourse by religious heads on the ways to be adopted by the couple post marriage and Grihapravesa - the welcoming of the bride to her new home.

There are some colourful events also in the marriage  like Janavasam or Mapillai oorvalam before the wedding which involve a small tour of the Groom around the streets in a decorated car. While in the earlier times it was found to be useful in declaring the marriage status of the boy to the public, this event is being given a goby in most modern marriages. Similarly the Kasi yatra is also a part of some marriages wherein the boy suddenly take a detour to skip the marriage and go on a yatra and he is persuaded by the father of the girl to stop his yatra and come back to marry his daughter. Another colourful event done after marriage is NALANGU which involves a few games using Coconut and Appalam between the Boy and the Girl to bring in a sort of familiarity and understanding. The event is made more interesting by the friends and the relatives taking sides and advising the boy and the girl not to give in the victory to other.

All in all, one thing is certain that irrespective of the way in which the marriage is conducted, it is a memorable occasion in one’s life remembering and cherishing the occasion throughout their life.

Let us give a Big wish to the thousands of the couples who are joining in the wedlock at any point of time throughout the world.
